Air Atlanta Icelandic

Air Atlanta Icelandic was founded in 1986. Since its establishment Air Atlanta Icelandic has focused on providing ACMI (Wet Lease) and charter services to the passenger and cargo market worldwide. With a large and diverse customer base of airlines, tour operators, charter brokers, governments and non-profit organizations, it has evolved to become one of the largest ACMI Hajj operator in the world.

The airline is headquartered in Kopavogur just outside Iceland’s capital Reykjavik and holds one of the world’s largest fleets of Boing 747-400s. Air Atlanta Icelandic recently purchased one of British Airways B747-400 full flight simulator at London Heathrow where Atlanta Flight Academy is now providing type rating and APS MCC courses.

Gudmundur Helgason is a Flight Operations Specialist at Air Atlanta Icelandic and the one that first caught eye on the FlightLogger platform. “We had been looking for a system to manage our ATO operations, mainly for scheduling and tracking our simulator training and handling our electronic training programmes”, says Gudmundur Helgason. “FlightLogger clearly met our demands, and the possibilities of including our AOC operations and competency-based training in FlightLogger once we are ready for it, means that it’s a future-proof solution for us.”

The fact that Air Atlanta Icelandic chose FlightLogger underlines the diversity of training organizations that the digital flight training management platform is suited for – simulators, fixed wings and rotary-wings alike.

At FlightLogger we are delighted that Air Atlanta Icelandic has chosen our software as the third Icelandic training organization. A warm welcome to Gudmundur and everybody at Air Atlanta Icelandic.
