It’s with great pleasure that we announce the 9th Australian partner going live with FlightLogger. Mission Aviation Fellowship (MAF) is an organization unlike most others, with an inspiring vision of using aviation skills to help people in need in some of the world’s most remote communities, and we are honored to now count them among one of our partners.

About Mission Aviation Fellowship

MAF was originally founded more than 70 years ago by a group of Christian World War II pilots with a shared desire to use their aviation skills to help rather than harm following the war. Today, MAF is a global movement with over 130 aircraft in over 30 countries and using more than 3.000 airstrips flying out vaccinations, food, books, building materials, local language bibles, as well as key workers from over 1.500 partner organizations providing aid and development, disaster relief, healthcare, education, and Christian mission support to some of the most remote areas of the world.

Aside from helping people in need, MAF also provides training of new pilots through various training programs from their training facilities in Mareeba, Australia. This is where our pilot training management platform comes into the picture.

A fitting set of features and proactive development made the difference

It was MAF’s Head of Delivery, René Don who along with his colleague, Head of Training Andrew Little, first identified the distinct values of FlightLogger’s pilot training management platform after realising that FlightLogger was already thinking ahead in regard to the next features to introduce on the platform. “A thing that really stood out was FlightLogger’s mature product, with excellent modules such as the Competency Based Training and Assessment package. FlightLogger’s focus on instructor workflow, and enabling production were some other aspects that stood out, plus it being a product that is fully cloud-based”, René Don explained.

FlightLogger’s ability to uphold CASA requirements was another reason why MAF two months ago chose to switch to the FlightLogger platform. After going through an onboarding that included implementation of users, training syllabi, and all resources on their new platform along with two days of training, the entire team at MAF are now ready to go live. They thereby also join their close partners in Europe, Mission Aviation Training Centre (MATC), who has already been using FlightLogger for a couple of years.

We are super excited to not just welcome another Australian training organisation to the FlightLogger community, but to add one with such a unique heritage and admirable mission. A warm welcome to all students, instructors, and management at MAF.
