Last week, another Canadian flight training organization was added to FlightLogger’s list of partners when Canadian Flight Academy went live with the digital flight school management platform after finalizing their onboarding. Various alternatives were considered before FlightLogger was finally selected by the chief flight instructor and the board of directors.

Since 1998, Canadian Flight Academy has been a subsidiary of Toronto Airways. Founded in 1963, the organization located in Oshawa, Canada has earned itself a reputation for providing quality pilot training in the aviation industry, and with more than 200 pilot students it is considered among Canada’s leading flight academies.

Combination of features and user-friendliness made the difference

It was the chief flight instructor at Canadian Flight Academy, Josh Bricker, who first began looking at FlightLogger during the Autumn of 2020 after learning about the platform from a colleague from a fellow Canadian academy. “Initially I was weighing FlightLogger up against various alternatives to find out what would best allow us to manage scheduling and pilot training management while providing the flight records, reports and statistics we needed. The other platforms we had tried before didn’t really provide that and certainly not with the user-friendliness we immediately experienced with FlightLogger”, Josh Bricker explains.

That’s why Bricker shortly after proposed the solution to Canadian Flight Academy’s board of directors, who after some further investigations willingly agreed to proceed with FlightLogger a couple of weeks later.

Perfect timing of FlightLogger’s new dispatching features

Besides scheduling and training management, an important feature for Josh and his colleagues to have was a flight dispatching function, which FlightLogger by coincidence was already in the process of building at that time. In fact, the timing was perfect as Canadian Flight Academy was ready to go live on June 21st – the exact same day as FlightLogger released the new Departure/Arrival page with the dispatch functionality they needed!

Today, roughly 250 students, instructors, and staff have already started using the FlightLogger platform for managing their daily operations at Canadian Flight Academy. While the administrative staff mainly use FlightLogger for scheduling and managing training programs, flight records etc., it has also become a valuable companion for the students in displaying their upcoming activities – and for instructors also to carry out flight and theory registration as well as grading from any device.

At FlightLogger we would like to wish everyone at Canadian Flight Academy a warm welcome to the FlightLogger family.
