About Aero Clube de Leiria
Founded on January 3, 1938, Aero Clube de Leiria (ACL) has deep roots in Portuguese aviation history. As a non-profit public utility entity, ACL fosters a welcoming environment where novice and experienced pilots share their passion for aviation. The club ensures that instructors are always available to assist pilots, student pilots, and aviation enthusiasts.
ACL is certified by the National Civil Aviation Authority (ANAC) as a Declared Training Organization. Their flight school offers a range of programs, including the Private Pilot License, class and type rating revalidations, and refresher courses. Additionally, ACL provides services such as “Pilot for a Day” experiences, introductory flights, and panoramic tours, allowing individuals to explore the skies over Leiria.
Operating from the José Ferrinho Municipal Aerodrome in Leiria, ACL maintains an impressive fleet including aircraft like the Cessna 172N Skyhawk II and the Piper PA-18 Super Cub.
