Ranked among the Top 50 Flight Schools in the United States, based on 59 evaluation metrics, Utah State University’s Flight Program excels in providing an enriching learning environment. It hosts a wide range of facilities, including an extensive network of hangars at the Logan-Cache Airport, a diverse fleet of aircraft, and dedicated maintenance teams.
The Aviation Department presents two major study emphases: Fixed Wing and Rotorcraft. Students in the Fixed Wing program receive hands-on training with Diamond DA-40’s and DA-42’s, and DA-62’s, along with simulator training with Red Bird and CRJ-700. The Rotorcraft emphasis allows students to train on R22 Beta II, R44 Raven II, and cutting-edge flight simulators, preparing them for diverse career opportunities such as scenic tours, EMS, aerial firefighting, and wildlife study.
Throughout their educational journey, students accrue around 250 to 300 flight hours, reinforcing their practical skills. The university’s idyllic location further enriches the student experience, offering a variety of outdoor recreational activities like skiing, hiking, and biking.
