Skyborne Aviation Group recently announced their milestone acquisition of Vero Beach Flight Academy in Florida, USA.
We are thrilled to announce that FlightLogger’s flight school management software has been selected to be used at the new Skyborne Airline Academy Vero Beach, making them the first US-based academy to implement FlightLogger.
Located on a 30-acre site on Florida’s east coast between Orlando and West Palm Beach, Skyborne’s new academy is set to offer pilot students a full campus experience that very few academies in the world can match.
With the ambition of being a world-class pilot training facility, the new Skyborne Airline Academy Vero Beach offers a comprehensive FAA Part 141 approved 12-month residential program, various airline pathway programs with some of the leading US airlines, as well as numerous private, commercial and instructor programs.
In other words, it’s not just any academy that marks FlightLogger’s entry into the United States.
FlightLogger meets all the requirements for Skyborne’s expansion
Skyborne has been using FlightLogger at their facilities in Gloucestershire, England since 2018. For Skyborne’s Chief Operating Officer Ian Cooper, it was vital to also convey the digital platform at the new facilities in Vero Beach. “FlightLogger is quite essential for us in being efficient in everything we do. Managing an expanding organization with lots of aircraft, training programs, students and staff mean we have strict requirements for our management platform. FlightLogger had already proven to be the best solution to standardize our operations, and the support and training we received during implementation of the Vero Beach academy has been great”, Ian Cooper explains.
FAA approved Part 141 training programs with FlightLogger
For Skyborne, expanding into the US pilot training market required some adaption to the regulations of the FAA. “Achieving the Part 141 approval was essential for us. Luckily, it turned out to be a quite stress-free process. Even though our new Vero Beach academy is the first US-based academy using the FlightLogger platform, our training setup met all FAA’s requirements. The fact that we can now run our operations in both Gloucestershire and Vero Beach from the same familiar platform means that we can apply identical procedures and standards in both places”, says Ian Cooper.
For FlightLogger CEO Kenneth Jeppesen it’s a bit of a milestone to see the first US-based academy go live. “We have had a fantastic cooperation with Skyborne since 2018 and it is a huge thing for us to be part of their expansion into the US market. Apart from that, there’s a great potential for our platform in the US, and participating in the implementation at Vero Beach has affirmed to us that this is just the beginning”, says Kenneth Jeppesen.
With the launch of Skyborne Airline Academy Vero Beach, FlightLogger is now used in 41 countries in total.
