On Monday the 7th of May at 06:00 AM UTC FlightLogger will add yet another great update with various improvements.
The update includes among other things an improved document center and additional add-ons to the message center.
It also includes the ability to control the overall “min intervals” used when doing flight registration and two new account settings to control instructors rights in regards to management of students.
Read about each improvement and new feature below.
Improved document center and message center
The new document center is first of all fully responsive making it easier to access on tablets and smartphones.
New features have been added such as “Move”, “Clone” as well as a more advanced sharing functionality.
With the new sharing options, it is now possible to share folders and documents with individuals, classes, groups of users and/or students attached to specific programs.
The same options have been added to the “receiver dropdown” used in the FlightLogger message center to further improve communication internally.
The known folder and document structure have also been applied to the document area found on both user, aircraft and customer profiles.
An additional feature has been added to the user document area allowing upload of documents that is not visible to the user.
All folders/documents currently shared with “Renters” will be migrated into folders/documents shared with the group “Active renters”
All folders/documents currently shared with “Students” will be migrated into folders/documents shared with the group “Active students”
All folders/documents currently shared with “Staff” will be migrated into folders/documents shared with the group “Active staff”
All folders/documents currently shared with “Crew” will be migrated into folders/documents shared with the group “Active Crew”
All folders/documents currently shared with “Instructor” will be migrated into folders/documents shared with the group “Active instructors”
Administrators will (just like today) have access to all folders and documents.
Customisable “min interval”
Included in this update is a new general account setting adding the possibility to control the “min interval” used during flight registrations in FlightLogger.
The new setting is found under Administration->Account settings->General – and allow the “min interval” to be either 1, 3, 5, 6 or 10 min.
For customers in need of registering flight duration from “digits” to “hours:min”, we recommend the 6 min interval.
Changing the “minute interval’ may change the “default taxi in” and “default taxi out” settings for all aircraft that has “taxi enabled” on your account.
New instructor account settings
Two new account settings have been added to FlightLogger.
One controlling if instructors can create students and change the status of a student´s programs
The other controlling if instructors can change the status of classes.
The new account settings are to be found via:
Administration->Account setting->User settings->Instructors can create and change status of students
Other changes in this update
Together with these new features, FlightLogger has also included more than 30 smaller changes/fixes/improvements.
Each of these relates to occurrences in “edge cases” and will not be described further.
